Friday night seen the Mariners take on the Red Wings in Deer Lake.
A quick start by the Wings scoring in the first minute of the game put the team behind the eight ball early.
Lucas Wiseman played well in the Mariner net, but the team were a little out of sorts on the blustery Friday night and fell to a 7-2 defeat compliments of a hat trick from veteran Ryan Penny.
Saturday seen the Mariners return home to take on the first place Royals and the Mariners were looking for their first win.

Captain Dylan Savory opened the scoring on a pass from Chad Leriche and that got the ball rolling on what was one of the most entertaining games at the Bruce II this season.
Ryley Nadon continued his stellar play and the Mariners goaltender kept the Royals frustrated with some ten bell saves throughout the contest.
Dylan Savory had two goals, Robert Mercer scored his first and Clay King found the empty net to seal the victory.
The Mariners were very physical for most of the game using their size to win some important puck battles in both ends of the ice and the defense are steadily improving.
Robert Mercer played his best game in the black and red this season and Danny MacLean has fit in well in a short sample size.
The Mariners get their first win and the team looks to be coming together at the right time and it’s exciting to see what comes next for the team as the season reaches the halfway point.
