SOUTHWEST COAST – On Saturday, May 15, the summer trouting season for Zone 1 opened. Zone 1 is insular Newfoundland.
The season will remain open until Sept. 7, with no changes to the bag/possession limits from previous seasons.
Bag limits for trout, which includes speckled, rainbow, and Ouananiche, is either 12 trout, in any combination of species, or 2.25 kg (5 pounds) plus one trout.
The possession limit is always double the bag limit, meaning 24 trout or 4.5 kg plus 2 fish.
